Senior Pup Adoption Process
At Henderson Home Animal Rescue, every senior dog’s journey begins with a second chance. When we pull a senior pup from the city of Henderson animal shelter, they are placed into a safe and supportive environment—either in a foster home or a temporary boarding facility, such as Hillcrest Dog Spot—where their needs can be properly assessed and addressed.
Each dog receives a comprehensive veterinary evaluation and is fully vetted prior to adoption. This includes being spayed or neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations, and receiving any necessary medical care to ensure they are healthy, comfortable, and ready for their next chapter.
Once a senior pup is medically cleared and settled, we focus on finding the right forever home. Careful consideration is given to the dog’s temperament, energy level, and individual needs to ensure a successful and lasting match with their adopter. The adoption fee for our senior dogs is $100, which helps offset veterinary and care expenses and allows us to continue rescuing senior pups in need.

Age Requirement
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Stable Living Situation
Adopters must have a stable housing situation that allows pets. If renting, landlord approval may be required, which is similar to what is needed at the city of Henderson animal shelter.
Financial Responsibility
